Keeping your medal

How to keep your medal from its email with a 6-digit code, so it lands in your trophy cabinet.

Keeping your medal adds it to your trophy cabinet, where you can see it, share it and choose who else sees it. It takes a minute, and there's no password to set up.

Keep it from the email

  1. Open the email with your medal. It comes from your organiser's name "via Breaktape".
  2. Tap Keep your medal. Your medal opens, with your result underneath.
  3. Tap Keep this medal. We send a 6-digit code to the address the medal went to. The page shows part of that address so you can check it.
  4. Find the email with the code. Its subject is Your Breaktape sign-in code.
  5. Type the code into the 6-digit code box and tap Keep my medal.

That's it. You land on your medal in your trophy cabinet, with a note saying It's yours.

If the code doesn't work

  • "Enter all 6 digits from the email. Numbers only, no spaces." The code is six numbers. Check you've typed all of them.
  • "That code didn't work. Check it against the latest email, or send a new one below." You may have used an older code. Each code works once, for 15 minutes, and asking for a new one stops the old one working.
  • Nothing arrived? Check your spam or junk folder first. Then tap Send a new code. You can ask for a new code once a minute.

You can look without keeping it

You don't have to keep your medal to see it. The link in the email always shows it, and you can share it from there too. See Sharing your medal.

Good to know

  • The code only ever goes to the address your medal was sent to. That's how we know the medal is yours.
  • The first medal you keep starts your account. Every medal after it, from any organiser, joins the same trophy cabinet as long as it was sent to the same email address.
  • A medal sent to a different email address makes a separate cabinet for that address. There's no way to combine two cabinets yet.
  • Your privacy settings apply as you keep a medal. You can change them for each medal afterwards. See Privacy choices.
  • If you open the link again later, you'll see This medal has already been kept. Tap Sign in to your trophy cabinet to see it.
  • If the page says This link doesn't work, open the email again and tap the button rather than copying the link. If it still doesn't work, ask your event organiser to send a fresh one.
  • If it's a medal for a child under 13, you keep it for them. See Medals for children.
