I didn't get my medal email
Why your medal email might not have arrived yet, where to look, and who can help.
Your medal email can take a little while, and sometimes it lands somewhere unexpected. Here's how to track it down.
When medals go out
Medals don't go out the moment you cross the line. Before yours is sent:
- The timing company has to finish the official results, and your result has to be final.
- Your organiser checks the medals and releases them. Nothing goes out until they do.
- Your organiser picks when the emails are sent. Some send them as soon as they're released, and some at 7am the next morning, so you wake up to your medal.
At some events, medals start going out while the race is still on. At others, it can take a day or two while results are checked. If it's only been a few hours, give it a little longer.
Check your inbox
- Search your email for the name of your event, or for "via Breaktape". The email comes from your organiser's name followed by "via Breaktape".
- Check your spam, junk, promotions and updates folders.
- Check any other email addresses you use. The medal goes to the address you gave when you entered, which may be an old one or a work one.
- If you were entered by someone else, such as a club, a friend or a parent, it may have gone to them.
If you find it in spam, mark it as not spam so the next one arrives safely.
Still nothing?
Contact your event organiser. They can see whether a medal was made and sent for you, and they can:
- check the email address they have for you
- tell you whether results are final yet
- send you a fresh link
Breaktape can't change your email address on an organiser's results, or send a medal without them. If your organiser can't help, email support@breaktape.com with the event name and race. Please don't send your date of birth or other personal details.
Good to know
- Medals are only ever made from final, official results. If your result is still being checked, your medal waits until it's settled.
- If you didn't finish, or your result is listed as a DNF, there won't be a medal.
- If your organiser had no email address for you, they can't send a medal until they add one.
- There's no way to search for a medal by bib number or name. Each medal comes from its own email.
- If the link in your email says This link doesn't work, open the email again and tap the button rather than copying the link.
