Physical medals

How your Breaktape medal relates to the medal you may get at the finish, and who to ask about it.

Breaktape medals are digital. If your event also gives out a physical medal, that's handled entirely by your event organiser, not by Breaktape.

Your digital medal

Your Breaktape medal is made from your official result, with your name and your time on it. It arrives by email after the event, and it's yours to keep in your trophy cabinet, share and check at any time. See What is a Breaktape medal?

You get your digital medal whether or not you collect a physical one.

Physical medals

Everything about a physical medal is up to your organiser, including:

  • whether there is one
  • how you get it, for example at the finish line, by post or by collection
  • what happens if you missed it or it was the wrong size or distance
  • whether you can swap it for something else

Some events ask, when you enter, whether you'd like a physical medal or just a digital one. That choice is part of your entry with the organiser. There's no way to change it in Breaktape.

What to do

  1. If you have a question about a physical medal, contact your event organiser. Their details are usually on the event website or in your entry confirmation.
  2. If your digital medal hasn't arrived, see I didn't get my medal email.
  3. If something on your digital medal is wrong, see My result or name is wrong.

Good to know

  • Breaktape doesn't make, post or store physical medals, so we can't help with missing or damaged ones.
  • Your digital medal and any physical medal are separate. Correcting one doesn't change the other.
  • Your digital medal can be shared, saved as pictures and checked by anyone, so it works well alongside a medal on your wall.
  • Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes aren't available yet.
