Privacy choices
Public or private, hiding your surname or time, what each changes and how medals start out.
You decide what other people see of your medal. You can change each medal on its own, and set the choices that apply to every new medal you keep.
Your choices
Public: anyone with the link can see your medal page, and you can share it.
Private: only you see it, in your trophy cabinet. Links you've already shared show This medal is private, and nothing else. The medal still checks out as genuine on its verification page, but without your name or result.
For a public medal, you can also choose what the page shows:
- Hide my surname shows your first name and the first letter of your surname, for example "Sam O." instead of Sam Okafor.
- Hide my time takes your finish time off your medal page, the verification page and new pictures. You always see your time in your own cabinet.
Change one medal
- Open the medal in your trophy cabinet.
- Under About this medal, tap Privacy for this medal.
- Under Who can see it, choose Public or Private.
- For a public medal, tick Hide my surname or Hide my time if you'd like.
- Tap Save changes.
The page confirms what changed. Your medal page and new pictures update straight away.
Set your choices for new medals
- In your trophy cabinet, tap Settings.
- Under For new medals you keep, pick Who can see them: Public: anyone with the link or Private: only me.
- Tick Hide my surname on public pages or Hide my time on public pages if you'd like.
- Tap Save settings.
These apply to medals you keep from now on. They don't change medals already in your cabinet.
How medals start
- If you're an adult, your medal usually starts public, with your full name and time.
- A medal starts private if you're under 18, or if you asked the organiser to keep your results private when you entered. Some medals also start private when the organiser doesn't know your age.
- When you keep a medal, your settings for new medals apply. They can make a medal more private, never less. A medal that started private stays private until you choose otherwise.
- Medals for children under 13 are always private and can't be made public. See Medals for children.
Good to know
- Pictures you've already saved or posted elsewhere don't change. Only new pictures follow your choices.
- If your event wasn't timed, there's no time to hide.
- Hiding your surname doesn't change the name your organiser holds in their own results.
- Your organiser's own results pages are theirs. Ask them if you want your result removed there.
- If you'd rather your medal didn't exist at all, you can delete it. See Deleting your account and data.
