Deleting your account and data
How to delete one medal or your whole account, what's removed and what stays.
You can delete a single medal, or your whole account with every medal in it. Either way, your details are erased from Breaktape. This can't be undone, so read what it means first.
Delete one medal
- Open the medal in your trophy cabinet.
- Tap Privacy for this medal.
- Under Delete this medal, tap Delete this medal.
- Read the list, then tick I understand, and I want to delete this medal.
- Tap Delete medal. If you've changed your mind, tap Keep my medal instead.
You'll see Medal deleted. Tap Back to your medals to return to your cabinet.
Delete your account
- In your trophy cabinet, tap Settings.
- Under Delete your account, tap Delete my account.
- Read the list, then tick I understand, and I want to delete my account.
- Tap Delete everything. If you've changed your mind, tap Keep my account instead.
You'll see Your account is deleted, and you're signed out.
What's removed
- Your name, your time and your medal pictures, from every medal you delete.
- If you delete your account: your account, every medal in it, and any medals you hold for children under 13.
- Your sign-in, so you can't sign back in to that cabinet.
What stays
- Each deleted medal's page and verification link say the medal was withdrawn at your request, with the event, race, organiser and dates. They don't show your name or result, and the medal no longer verifies. The verification page makes clear it was genuine when it was issued.
- Your organiser keeps a count of medals issued, but not your details.
- Your result stays on the organiser's own results pages and in their records. Breaktape can't change those: ask the organiser directly if you want it removed there.
- Pictures you've posted elsewhere stay where you posted them. Delete them there if you'd like them gone.
Good to know
- This can't be undone. Once a medal is deleted, your organiser can't send you that medal again.
- If you only want fewer people to see a medal, you don't need to delete it. Make it private instead. See Privacy choices.
- If you finish another event later, you can start a new account from that medal's email.
- Turning off Occasional news from Breaktape in Settings stops our news emails without deleting anything.
- Questions about your data? Contact your event organiser first, or email support@breaktape.com.
