Analytics and exports
What the numbers on the Analytics page mean, how to filter them by event, year and race, and how to download them as a spreadsheet.
Analytics shows what your medals achieved: how many went out, how many finishers kept them, and how often they were shared. They're the outcomes worth reporting to your board, your sponsors and next year's planning meeting.
Open Analytics
- Go to Analytics in the main menu.
- At the top, choose the Event and the Year.
- Leave Race on All races for the whole event, or pick one race.
The numbers update as soon as you change a filter. Until your first medals go out, the page says No numbers yet. While a run is still sending, a Still delivering note reminds you the numbers will keep climbing.
The numbers
| Number | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Issued | Medals issued, with the number of finishers underneath. |
| Delivered | Medal emails sent, and the share of issued medals that's covered. |
| Claimed | Finishers who kept their medal by signing in with their code, as a share of those delivered. |
| Shared | Taps on a share button, with visits to medal pages from shared links underneath. |
| Clicks to your entry page | Visits from shared medals through to your entry page. |
| Declined a physical medal | Finishers who said they didn't want a physical medal. |
The last two don't collect anything yet, so they show zero for now. Medal pages don't link to your entry page yet, and there's no way yet for finishers to decline a physical medal.
Shares by channel
This section breaks shares down by where they went: Instagram story, WhatsApp, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, phone share sheet, copied link and downloaded image.
What counts as a share or a visit
- A share is a tap on a share button. When a finisher uses their phone's own share sheet, the phone doesn't tell us whether they actually posted, so the tap is what we count.
- A visit is someone opening a medal page through a shared link. Each share has its own tracked link, so we can count visits that came from it. Visits to a medal page from other places aren't counted yet.
- Nothing here identifies anyone. Analytics holds counts only.
If a race shows no shares at all, check its age policy. Under-13s' medals are always private, so a junior race has nothing to share by design.
Sponsors
If you've added sponsors, a Sponsors section shows how many medals carried each one and how many clicks they got, with a report to download for each. See Sponsor clicks and reports.
Download as CSV
- Press Download as CSV at the top of the page.
- A spreadsheet file downloads, named with today's date.
The file has one row for every race in your organisation, whatever you've picked in the filters. For each race it lists the event, year and race, finishers, medals issued, emails delivered, medals kept, visits from shares, clicks to entry, physical medal opt-outs, and shares for each channel. Like the page, it holds counts only, with no names, emails or times.
Good to know
- Who can see Analytics: admins, editors, viewers and finance.
- Corrected medals count once. When a result is corrected, the finisher still counts as one medal.
- Quiet mode runs aren't counted as delivered, because no email was sent.
- Numbers keep growing for weeks as finishers come back to their medals and share them again.
